Sky Skimmers™
The Sky Skimmers division of Kites Unlimited NC designs and manufactures
hand-crafted custom kites and windsocks.
Several designs in a wide variety of colors are available using quality
Carrington fabric from England, and basswood and fiberglass frames. Samples are on display
at both retail locations. They can be purchased in-house or by phone order.
Kites in our line include:
Sky Skimmer™
 |
A unique single-line kite with a wide wind range (3 to 20 mph). The main sail is
a tri-color eight-point star. The center tail begins with three
traditional diamond kites followed by 25' streamers. Side streamers
complete the look. The frame is fiberglass. |
Sky Flake™/Sky Flurrie™
 |
The Flake is a single-line kite that tumbles in the sky when you slack the
line. It is a member of the box family and resembles a honey comb. The Sky
Flake is five feet in diameter and it's little brother, the Flurrie, is
approximately three feet. The frame is fiberglass. |
Sky Seeker Box™
 |
This box kite is X-Wing in shape and flies as easily as any Delta kite.
The wing is approximately seventy inches and the shape adjusts to the wind
conditions. The frame is basswood, a light and flexible wood especially
suited to kites. |
Large Deltas
Deltas can be ordered in a variety of colors and sizes. They are
constructed with basswood struts & Carrington fabric from England. Standard
sizes are 9', 11' & 13'.
Macalapua Windsock
A "fish" style windsock made of high-quality rip-stop nylon.
Black with primary colored stripes or purple with hot colored
stripes. It is 5' in length with streamers.
